Role Summary
The Inventory Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Raw Material Inventory and staff to ensure inventory accuracy, efficiency and seamless operations to reduce cost and enhance performance.
Main Tasks
• Leads, guides and directs raw material inventory team to contribute to the overall success and culture within the organization
• Ensures procedures, instructions, orders and environmental laws are followed
• Analyzes daily raw material product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages
• Plans and executes stocktaking according standards
• Works with suppliers for ordering process and resolving issues
• Communicates daily with MP&L team, Supervisors, Plant Management and Corporate Management teams on all things inventory
• Responsible for and contacts customer or supplier consignment
• Creates and reports KPI’s for team
• Supports ERP postings (correction movement types)
• Ensures compliance with audits within the workplace
• Follows and adheres to all safety rules and regulations
• Additional duties as assigned
Your Profile
- Bachelors Degree or combination of education and experience to provide an equivalent background
- 2+ years of relevant work experience, with special focus on inventory management and stocktaking preferred
- 2+ years supervisory experience preferred
- Must possess strong organizational skills with a sense of urgency and attention to detail to prioritize and work well under time pressure
- Excellent computer skills to include MS Office products with a strong understanding of Excel and basic formulas; ERP skills required, Sage X3 a plus
- Forklift certification or experience a plus
- Experience in inventory management, cycle counting and using scanners to track product
- Must have 5 S skills (keep work area safe and clean)
- Must work safely and identify all safety issues using the STOP, CALL, WAIT system until repairs are made!
- Lean Manufacturing experience desired
- Must have good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees and customers/vendors
- Must be able to work as part of a team to ensure all company standards are met
- Must be able flexible with the ability to adapt to last minute changes
- Self-initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Must be able to read, understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, company processes and procedures and safety policies
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
