Role Summary
This roles oversees LS&E (Air Filtration and Water Membrane Solutions) of MH Americas The SQE monitors and assures quality of purchased parts and material during the purchased part life cycle.
Main Tasks
- Supports Project Team in performing the risk assessment of purchased parts and suppliers
- Initiates the APQP process for purchased parts summarizing all product related requirements provided by the relevant functions (e.g. R&D, Production, Logistic) in the Product Requirement File for Purchased Parts (PRFPP)
- Leads the project management for all new supplier evaluations, from start to finish.
- Develops and implements supplier score cards and monitoring supplier performance trends.
- Assures the flow of technical and quality related information between MANN+HUMMEL and suppliers for project related part-specific requirements, measuring methods, etc.
- Monitors the APQP progress of suppliers ensuring that the suppliers are on time according to the agreed timeline
- Escalates to the Project Team if a purchased part caused delay is critical to the project timeline
- Responsible for the verification of purchased part ISIR/PPAP documentation and relevant parts for new projects as well as to clarify the acceptability of deviations found during the approval process with R&D and other involved functions
- Conducts process releases and production readiness verifications at suppliers as needed (e.g. Run@Rate)
- Communicates Lessons Learned and provides support within the SQA/SQE/SQD network and supports in standardization and continuous improvement of the APQP process for purchased parts
- Responsible for planning and organization of Incoming Goods Inspection (IGI) according to Control and Inspection Plans; incl. management of purchased parts quarantining, sorting and rework related activities
- Manages supplier quality complaints (8D/RPS)
- Ensures the robustness of the corrective actions of suppliers; if necessary, by follow up and validation of actions on site at the suppliers
- Drives supplier improvement programs and applies the MANN+HUMMEL rules for CSL1/ CSL2 (Controlled Shipping Level); if necessary, organizes top worst supplier meetings together with Purchasing
- Plans and performs supplier audits with focus on process and product audits
- Coordinates supplier related deviations, concessions and changes as part of Technical Change Management (TCM)
- Has the authority and the responsibility to stop any purchased parts delivery in case of a non- conformance related to customer expectations, safety or environmental regulations
- Manages the Incoming Goods Inspectors (budget, recruitment, allocation of resources, personnel development)
Your Profile
Education and Work Experience:
- University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Mechanical, Engineering degree or equivalent education
- At least 3 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Production functions in the relevant industry
- Knowledge in and understanding of ISO 14001 requirements
- Expertise in Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) and knowledge of standard quality tools (e.g. FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Initial Sampling Process, Run@Rate, inspection methods)
- Ability to interpret drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to agreed quality parameters
- Experience of product and process audit
- Ability to apply and train suppliers in problem solving and process capability tools
Preferred:
- Experience in relevant production processes and technologies
- Able to train suppliers on additional quality and lean techniques – such as design of experiments, continuous improvement programs and lean manufacturing tools
- Expertise in Customer Specific Requirements
- Skills required in component cleanliness management
