Resident Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Resident Engineer serves as the primary design liaison between MANN+HUMMEL and key OEM customers, specifically General Motors Warren, Michigan. This role ensures designing and implementing products within the GM CAD and TeamCenter environment. Resident Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining strong relationships with customer engineering and product development teams representing MANN+HUMMEL’s engineering capabilities.

Main Tasks

• Act as the onsite design liaison between MANN+HUMMEL and GM product development teams
• Create and optimize product designs for fit, form and function within the GM NX and TeamCenter CAD environment
• Support product development, engineering changes and new product launches, and communicate issue resolution directly with customer engineering and M+H.
• Provide proactive onsite support to identify and resolve product design issues.
• Collaborate with internal development teams to optimize designs for functionality and reduce costs
• Assist with new product development activities.
• Maintain onsite residence at General Motors 5 days per week.

Your Profile

Education:

• Associate’s degree in CAD

Experience:

• 5  years of experience in CAD design within the General Motors CAD environment
• Extensive experience with NX CAD and GM TeamCenter systems.
• Experience designing manufacturing feasible Injection and blow molded plastic components for Air Induction systems
