Role Summary
The job incumbent is responsible for development of product portfolio to achieve growth goals within MHSG (South East Asia region). This includes the definition of gaps in range and cost down needs through timely researches done and close cooperation with Sales / Marketing teams.
Main Tasks
- Continuous expansion of the local product information for all segments (passenger cars, light + heavy commercial vehicles, off-highway applications) and all brands with the aim of achieving a defined vehicle linkage rate in the internal product information system
- Research and maintenance of vehicle information such as OE references and their vehicle uses and technical evaluation of the component, including 1st step checking for identical product solutions at M+H
- Define technical requirements as basis for the product development, consisting of one or more OE numbers with identical/similar technical requirements and vehicle uses. Product-, brand- and region-specific
- Align and implementation of local portfolio strategy, define range requirements in terms of OE segments, brands and market coverage target
- Increase range to achieve targeted market coverage, via expansion of globally available range to local range, as well as new part developments
- Prioritization and assessment of found gaps in the product range according to relevance for the respective vehicle and sales potential for M+H
- Initiate of internal process for new part development, including make-or-buy decision
- Responsible for all PM related tasks within the development process
- Lead cross-functional product development process to achieve fastest Time2Market
- Responsible for life-cycle management in terms of SOP, EOP, sourcing optimization, commercial portfolio analysis
- Manage Catalog and Product Portfolio
- Gathering of market information via visits to specialist workshops, market researches
- Procurement and evaluation of product samples (OE, competitor, ..)
- Support local team (sales, pricing, marketing, CS, ..) and customers in product related queries and catalog data requirements
- Support at fairs, exhibitions and customer events
- Conduct internal and external product trainings
Job Requirements (Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Competencies)
- Possess Degree or relevant education with a technical or economic-scientific focus
- 6-8 years of professional experience in product management; Automotive Aftermarket industry experience in the region will be advantageous.
- Possess detailed knowledge of Microsoft office
- Fluency in business English (written and spoken)
- Communication skills and ability to work in team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Time management, prioritization skills
- Co-ordination of quality topics within the group
- Annual budget planning for NPIs and project wise budget planning + request
- Experience in coordination of project management activities with Capex requirement
