Role Summary
The job incumbent drives the Group’s anti-counterfeiting activities with focus on the APAC region, collaborates with Patent Counsel on patent enforcement and advices regional stakeholders on all non-technical IP aspects (trademarks, designs, contracts, trade secrets…).
Main Tasks
- Advise group companies in the prosecution of counterfeit products and IP infringements on- and offline (trademark, design and copyright infringements) with focus on APAC region.
- Plan and coordinate activities to combat IP infringements in collaboration with international peers; manage investigations as well as litigation and engage and liaise with local and regional investigative, law enforcement and customs authorities; instruct external lawyers and investigators.
- Draft and implement an online counterfeit takedown process with focus on APAC region
- Be responsible for developing, implementing and regularly adjusting an IP enforcement segment strategy
- Collaborate with regional stakeholders and consult in all IP legal and related subject matters
- Provide IP support for contracts and negotiation thereof in close collaboration with internal legal colleagues, review and draft IP related contracts with focus on NDA, JDA and IP Licenses
- Advice group entities on IP related intercompany contracts, draft and implement an intercompany IP assignment and licensing contract setup for LSE
- Collaborate closely with Patent Counsel on patent enforcement.
- Support and lead internal projects in Group IP
- Conduct trainings to raise internal anti-counterfeiting awareness
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Your Profile
- Possess LLB/BA Degree in Law or relevant fields
- Proven track records with >3 years PQE gained in-house or with a multi-national/reputable law firm in Singapore or the APAC region, In-house experience would be an advantage
- Good knowledge in regional intellectual property law
- Anti-counterfeiting/brand enforcement experience, experience in research and IP investigations
- Contract drafting and reviewing experience, experience with intercompany IP contracts.
- Strong analytic, project management and planning skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and with initiative as well as ability to collaborate in a global team.
- Proficiency in English, one additional regional language of advantage for collaboration with internal & external stakeholders in the region
- High level of organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, team player, open mindset, ability to integrate in an international environment
Willingness to take short term business trips.
