Main Tasks

  • Drive process efficiency by optimizing dies, tooling, and stamping processes to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance with production standards.
  • Operate and optimize manufacturing equipment, including deep drawing (can forming), stamping, progressive presses, blanking/punching, welding, assembly, and seaming.
  • Implement SMED methodology to reduce changeover time and eliminate downtime.
  • Lead tooling design improvements and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance to extend tool life and improve process robustness.
  • Analyze and optimize process parameters to maximize productivity and minimize scrap, waste, and cost.
  • Manage new die and process projects, from fabrication through commissioning, ensuring timelines and budget adherence.
  • Ensure quality compliance by validating stamped components against dimensional and regulatory requirements in collaboration with Quality.
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Advanced Manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support new product launches, transfers, feasibility studies, and quotation phase evaluations.
  • Monitor KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including layout optimization and cost-reduction projects.
  • Maintain process documentation (PFMEA, work instructions, drawings) and implement defect prevention systems.
  • Address customer quality issues and warranty claims with effective corrective actions.
  • Promote safety, ergonomics, and workplace organization.

 

 

PROFILE: 

Education:

Engineering degree (Industrial, Electronics, Mechanical, etc.) or a related field (Required).

Experience:

5 years of experience, preferably in the automotive industry, performing activities related to process engineering control and performance in production processes such as stamping, dies, progressive dies, welding, and preferably hemming.
Desirable: 1–2 years of experience in production within the same area.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in FTMX (Required for internal candidates).
