Role Summary
This role supports the advancement of early-stage innovation by assisting project managers and contributing directly to the development of new products and technologies related to our mission of separating the useful from the harmful. This internship is based in-person at our facility at 801 Corporate Center Dr. Raleigh, NC 27607. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. This internship requires a minimum commitment of 2 months with 20-40 hours expected per week.
Main Tasks
- Investigate emerging filtration and separation technologies for bioprocessing technologies.
- Support innovation project managers with assigned project tasks.
- Conduct product, technology, and market research.
- Interview customers and subject matter experts.
- Support ideation-phase projects and help develop potential solutions.
- Publish meeting/workshop minutes and reports.
- Perform all tasks in a positive and professional manner.
Education
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Bioprocessing Science, Biological Engineering, Molecular and Structural Biochemistry, Plant and Microbial Biology, Animal Science, Biotechnology, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical or Process Engineering, or related field.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas: project management, online research, patent research analysis, technical report writing, prototype construction, and testing.
- Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas: Membrane production (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration), Centrifugation, Chromatography, Bioreactors and fermentation, Nucleic Acid Sample Preparation, Downstream purification.
- Strong interest in bioprocessing technologies for medical, pharmaceutical, or food and agriculture related applications.
- Strong interest filtration and separation technologies.
- Strong organization, coordination, and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to multitask in a collaborative team and office setting.
- Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Interest in sustainable, circular filtration concepts to reduce waste and improve environmental performance.
