As a Test Technician, you will plan, set up, and execute laboratory testing activities while supporting engineers by ensuring accurate test procedures, equipment setup, documentation, and maintenance of a safe, organized testing environment. 

Main Tasks

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute laboratory testing activities in accordance with test protocols, engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.

  • Prepare work areas for testing, set up required equipment, and ensure all activities follow established procedures.

  • Set up and modify test fixtures as required, including basic fixture fabrication when necessary.

  • Develop and maintain sample tracking methods to ensure proper identification and traceability.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on assigned laboratory equipment within technical capability.

  • Maintain accurate test records and prepare supporting documentation and reports as needed.

  • Communicate test status and results effectively to test engineers and cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Maintain testing equipment and organize test fixtures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure lab environment.

  • Operate basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.).

  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and move objects up to 100 lbs as needed.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college or vocational coursework preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant hands-on experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of test methods, test setup, tools, materials, and the ability to analyze and interpret results.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.

  • Completion of New Employee Orientation and Quality Systems Overview training (plus additional department-required training).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience repairing or maintaining cars, trucks, or motorcycles is highly desired.
