Internship Expectations

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Location: This internship is based in-person at our Portage, MI facility. Relocation assistance not available for this position. 
Start: ASAP

Duration: 12-month minimum requirement (Internships can extend up to 24 months)
Hours per week: 
    - During School - 15 to 20 hours a week
    - During Breaks - 20 to 40 hours a week (note - this includes winter, spring and summer breaks)

Main Tasks

- Complete market study evaluations 
- Lead margin improvement project for one or more saleable parts
- Support an RFQ process intimately with a sales manager to gain a better understanding of the MANN+HUMMEL quote process
- Support capacity increases or program extensions
- Support scorecard maintenance activities
- Shadow other department functions where possible i.e. finance, logistics, purchasing, program management, process engineering, manufacturing, design and validation. Two of these areas to be deeply shadowed to demonstrate the understanding of the function of these departments and the risks and opportunities they face
- Support sales managers in day to day tasks where necessary, which will expose you to key customers 

Educational Requirements

- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or in a related field in an accredited program 
- Current GPA 3.0 or better

Skills

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a collaborative team and office setting
- Willingness to take responsibility for projects as well as present key findings
