Role Summary
SCADA Project Engineer at our location in Portage, Michigan
This SCADA Project Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving our current Supervisory Control and Data Aquisition System and developing new Operations Technology (OT) related tools to improve efficiency in overall plant operations. He/She will also support the oversight of daily operations including equipment installation, repair and maintenance; management of software applications; management of data repositories; management of training.
Main Tasks
- Support for corporate digitalization initiatives for industry 4.0
- Support for new programs and projects relative to SCADA set up including coordination and purchase of equipment
- Engage with operations team to understand needs and recommend system-based solutions
- Lead activities related to Continuous Improvement and Lean Principles including implementation to production
- Assist in the development and training of production personnel who will be utilizing systems
- Assure functionality of SCADA related hardware – pc’s, scanners, printers, ups, card readers, and networking devices
- Assure functionality of SCADA related software – OPC UA, MQTT, Start-up routines, Backups, Database maintenance, SCADA configuration software
- Availability to support operations 24 x 7. Remote access and on-site. Expect 75% floor support and 25% office work
- Develop Training documentation and Classes for three production shifts using the “Train the Trainer” when able
- Collect or Develop ideas for continuous improvement using supportive technology
- Maintain records for Assembly Cell Setups including machine and equipment asset numbers, ip addresses, subnets
- Write purchase requisition for SCADA related equipment
- Assure adherence to M+H standards
- Update and implement M+H part number revisions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues as needed
- Understand basic machine logic and processes
- Manage projects and coordinate management of change processes (MOC)
Your Profile
Education:
- Bachelor Degree (Engineering (EE) or MIS (IT) or Associates Degree with relevant experience in manufacturing
Required Skills:
- Self-starter, able to work both independently or in a team, creative, entrepreneurial
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time
- Experience with MS SQL Server
- Proficiency in networking
- Object oriented programming languages: Python, Javascript, Visual Basic, T-SQL
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding or experience with HMI/PLC hardware and software, esp. Allen Bradley and Siemens
- Familiarity with REST API, JSON, XML
- Familiarity with SAP & MII
