The Quality Engineer Intern position at MANN+HUMMEL is designed to provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing and quality engineering environment. This temporary role supports departmental projects while helping students fulfill academic internship requirements. It also serves as an opportunity for MANN+HUMMEL to evaluate future talent for full-time roles post-graduation. 

Main Tasks

  • Support Quality Engineering activities for both new product launches and existing production lines

  • Assist in writing and updating work instructions and standard operating procedures

  • Conduct time studies on assembly lines and help balance workloads for efficiency

  • Participate in layered process audits and other quality system checks

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on quality-related topics

  • Assist with short-term projects such as systems conversions or product launches

  • Perform additional departmental tasks as assigned

Your Profile

Education and Experience

  • Actively pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Previous exposure to manufacturing, quality, or engineering environments is a plus

  • Ability to comprehend technical instructions and write clear, concise documentation

  • Competency in applying basic mathematical concepts such as percentages, proportions, area, and volume

  • Comfortable interpreting instructions presented in written, oral, or diagram form


Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Team-oriented mindset with a goal-driven approach

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • SAP knowledge is a plus

  • Ability and willingness to learn how to read and evaluate technical part prints

  • Adaptability to work in both office and manufacturing settings

  • Physically able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and work in environments with moderate noise and mechanical equipment
