Your Responsibilities

The Purchasing Internship position offers you the opportunity to gain exposure and hands-on experience working at MANN+HUMMEL. This position will provide challenging projects, networking opportunities, and a chance to learn from experienced supply chain/purchasing professionals


− Support commodity buyers on request for quote distribution/collection, and determine applicable negotiation strategy
− Support commodity buyers to drive supplier business plan performance to target
− Support commodity buyers in reviewing bid proposals and negotiating contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
− Works with commodity buyers to seek out cost savings opportunities via VA/VE, design changes, supplier negotiations, and re-sourcing for responsible commodities 
− Responsible for maintaining supplier related documentation through use of SAP and other web-based systems
− Support project managers in purchasing with project related tasks; timing, orders, deliveries
− Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results
− Completes basic tasks within purchasing 
− Identifies areas for improvement, suggests solutions, and submits idea records

Educational Requirements

Actively pursuing a bachelor’s in supply chain management, business admin, finance or engineering

- Current GPA 3.0 or better

Skills

− Basic knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office
