Internship Expectations and Requirements

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Location: This internship is based in-person at our Portage, Michigan facility. Relocation assistance not availble for this position. 
Start: ASAP

Duration: 12-month minimum requirement (Internships can extend up to 24 months)
Hours per week: 
    - During School - 15 to 20 hours a week
    - During Breaks - 20 to 40 hours a week (note - this includes winter, spring and summer breaks)

Main Tasks

- The Project Engineering Intern will assist the MANN+HUMMEL project engineering team with launching new production products.
- Write and update work instructions for equipment.
- Time study assembly lines and assist in balancing work loads.
- Participate in design reviews for equipment and tooling.
- Work on continuous improvements exercises.

Educational Requirements

- Actively pursuing Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Management Engineering or a relative field
- Current GPA 3.0 or better

Skills/Experience

- Must be team and goal oriented.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Strong Knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets using Pivot Tables and Macros.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP software a plus.
- Ability to read and evaluate part prints.
- Ability to work hands on in a manufacturing environment.
