Internship Expectations

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Location: This internship is based in-person at our Portage, MI facility. Relocation assistance not available for this position. 
Start: ASAP

Duration: 6-month minimum requirement (Internships can extend up to 24 months)
Hours per week: 
    - During School - 15 to 20 hours a week
    - During Breaks - 20 to 40 hours a week (note - this includes winter, spring and summer breaks)

Main Tasks

− Provide an ongoing support for assigned PDT activities (Product Development Team)
− Help to coordinate Activity between the PM and the PDT as assigned by PM or PM Manager.
− Help PM Maintain Plan and coordinate project related activities as assigned by PM/PM Manager
− Communicate with other PDT team members, manufacturing teams and Suppliers.
− Maintaining timing on assigned tasks.
− Assist in ordering/managing and maintaining component inventory
− Assist in trial builds preparation / execution (prototype and production)
− Monitoring and controlling project costs of assigned tasks.
− Coordinating and expediting material deliveries while maintaining budget..
− Maintaining Quality requirements on assigned tasks.
− Maintaining a Safe work environment for yourself and your teammates.
− Participate in DLS activities as assigned (Design Lean Sigma)
− Update documents to maintain Quality Gates and detail time planning as assigned
− Arrange meetings as required to meet Project milestones
− Provide escalation to PM as required to meet project milestones (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery)
− Update MH systems as Assigned by PM/PM Manager
− Review the project status regularly according to the quality gates and define corrective actions
− Continuously coordinate and follow up the open tasks with the project team

Educational Requirements

− Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering and/or Business Administration or related field

Skills Requirements

− Excellent knowledge of MS Office
− Strong organization, coordination, and communication skills
− Ability to multitask in a collaborative team and office setting
