The Planning & Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for steering the creation of production plans according to customer demands and production capacity.

Main Tasks

  • Supervises supplier material planners and production scheduling planners
  • Responsible for ensuring material availability for production
  • Monitors supplier material shortages and FG/WIP shortages to minimize impact on our customers.
  • Create and maintain annual cycle count plan using ABC/XYZ methodology.  Ensure all cycle count adjustments are timely and correctly entered into SAP.
  • Monitor status of on hand inventory for FG, WIP and raw materials to ensure inventory values are within target inventory goals
  • Work with planners to develop and implement corrective action for inventory that exceeds planned target goals
  • Evaluate inventory monthly to determine if there are obsolescence parts that need to be dispositioned
  • Plans for the long and short-term growth of the department, including development of staffing plans, training, and documentation
  • Ensure department standards of performance are clearly and consistently administered across the department and are consistent with policies and targets established by the company
  • Generate and monitor monthly department performance reports such as status of inventory value to target value, inventory shortages and related impacts to customers and/or production. OEE reports
  • Ensures that all inventory activities are in full compliance with all safety, health and environmental rules and regulations
  • Responsible for ensuring material availability for production.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • An associate’s degree in general business or 5+ years related business experience in lieu of degree

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of materials, planning & logistics experience

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes
  • MRP systems experience related to production planning and supply chain processes
  • SAP experience

Preferred Skills:

    • Supervisory experience preferred
    • Ability to interpret performance metrics targets into specific actions for improvement
    • The ability to make decisions, solve problems, prioritize assignments, and direct the daily activities and overall results of their direct reports
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Strong leadership skills
