Role Summary

This is an On-Site position based at our location in Raleigh, NC, Portage, MI, or Gastonia, NC.

 

The Category Manager  - Industrial – Aerospace/Aviation & Defense is responsible for developing segment strategy for their respective industry and support of the Industrial group in aligning sales focus and objectives with relevant sales locations worldwide and Global Key Account Managers. Focus for this role will be the Aerospace/Aviation & Defense Industries.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuously learn and improve the current processes to optimize and align with MANN+HUMMEL standards and master processes
  • Establish segment business plan incl. potential. actual turnover and target per country, for the defined industry segment
  • Evaluate global and local market potentials, identify potential target markets and opportunities, develop global and local growth targets
  • Define value proposition for new segments
  • Build-up relevant industry expertise and market intimacy
  • Provide input for global pricing strategies of market products
  • Monitor industry sales, margin development, relevant KPIs, establish and review project pipeline lists based on general standard reports
  • Provide necessary input for trade fairs and marketing activities for industry related topics
  • Define and build market entry strategies for adjacent or complimenting markets

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years' minimum experience in analysis, development and management of a business market segment
  • Previous experience in design, development, manufacturing and distribution of products
  • Previous Project Management and Program Management experience

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills. Must work well without direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact effectively with both internal teams and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working within or with Sales and Warehousing/Distribution
  • Aerospace/Aviation and Defense industry product sales/operations knowledge is strongly preferred
