Role Summary
As Solution Engineer – Portfolio Economics & Decision Intelligence (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in shaping how strategic portfolio and investment decisions are made across MANN+HUMMEL's Transportation business.
You will design and build the analytical foundation that connects enterprise data, market intelligence, financial performance, and strategic priorities into a globally consistent decision-making framework. Working closely with senior leaders across Finance, Operations, Procurement, Sales, Product Management, and Strategy, you will transform complex business questions into scalable analytical solutions, enabling data-driven portfolio and capital allocation decisions at executive level.
This is a highly visible role with direct impact on annual strategy cycles, portfolio optimization, and long-term business performance.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop a globally consistent portfolio economics and decision intelligence framework for strategic portfolio and investment decisions
- Build and maintain portfolio scoring methodologies, economic models, forecasting approaches, and scenario analyses to support executive decision-making
- Develop scalable analytical solutions and data models that integrate enterprise data, market intelligence, commercial information, and financial performance metrics
- Define and implement globally governed KPIs, semantic data models, and business logic to ensure transparency and consistency across decision processes
- Develop data transformation and consolidation processes using modern analytics and data engineering technologies
- Drive the implementation of decision-support tools and board-level analytical products for senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Ensure data quality, governance, traceability, and transparency across internal and external data sources
- Translate complex business strategies, portfolio trade-offs, and investment considerations into actionable analytical frameworks
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Procurement, Sales, Product Management, and Strategy to align analytical approaches with business priorities
- Continuously enhance forecasting capabilities, decision intelligence methodologies, and portfolio management practices through advanced analytics and innovative technologies
Your Profile
- Education: Successfully completed degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable field
- Professional Experience:
- Several years of professional experience in Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Portfolio Management, Corporate Strategy, Finance, or a comparable environment
- Proven experience in developing analytical solutions, forecasting models, and decision-support frameworks for complex business environments
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams in international organizations
- Expertise:
- Expert knowledge of SQL, Python, and modern data modeling concepts
- Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms, ideally Snowflake and dbt or comparable technologies
- Deep understanding of commercial, financial, and operational analytics, including forecasting and scenario modeling
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable analytical solutions and executive-ready insights
- Languages: Fluent English, written and spoken; additional languages (German) are a plus
