Role Summary
As Senior Sales Manager Filtration Materials, you will drive customer acquisition, pipeline development, and revenue growth across the DACH/Europe region. Reporting directly to the VP Business Development, you will play a key role in establishing MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Materials as a trusted partner within the filtration industry and accelerating market penetration in a highly relationship-driven market environment.
This role is focused on developing new business, winning strategic target accounts, and converting commercial opportunities into sustainable customer relationships and repeat business. Working closely with Business Development, R&D, Operations, Marketing, and other business functions, you will help shape the go-to-market approach while acting as the voice of the customer within the organization.
Your Responsibilities
- Drive customer acquisition, pipeline development, and revenue growth within the DACH/Europe region.
- Own sales targets and proactively drive opportunities through sampling, validation trials, commercial negotiations, and order conversion.
- Build, manage, and continuously develop a robust sales pipeline, ensuring sustainable opportunity generation and deal progression.
- Systematically engage and penetrate defined target accounts, establishing relationships with key filtration manufacturers and converters.
- Identify and acquire new customers beyond the defined target account base to expand market presence and business potential.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Lead technical-commercial discussions and translate customer requirements into commercially viable business opportunities.
- Execute the Filtration Materials go-to-market strategy in close collaboration with Business Development, R&D, Operations, Marketing, and other business functions.
- Support lead generation activities through targeted marketing initiatives, industry events, and trade shows.
- Capture market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support business development initiatives and product portfolio evolution.
- Act as the voice of the customer within the organization and contribute to the continuous refinement of market positioning, pricing strategies, and application focus areas.
- Provide regular sales pipeline, account development, and market feedback updates to relevant stakeholders.
Your Profile
- Education: Successfully completed university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5-10+ years of professional experience in external sales or business development roles within industrial or technical markets.
- Proven track record of acquiring new customers and driving sustainable revenue growth.
- Demonstrated success in developing sales pipelines, converting opportunities, and establishing long-term customer relationships.
- Experience operating in competitive B2B environments with direct responsibility for customer acquisition and business development.
- Experience within filtration materials, filter media, nonwovens, or related technical materials markets is strongly preferred.
- Experience within the DACH/Europe region and a solid understanding of regional market dynamics.
- Expertise:
- Strong understanding of filtration materials, filter media, nonwovens, or related technical products, applications, and markets.
- Proven expertise in external B2B sales, strategic account penetration, and new business development.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, commercial negotiations, and deal closure.
- Experience building, managing, and developing sales pipelines within technical and industrial environments.
- Ability to conduct technical-commercial discussions and translate customer requirements into business opportunities.
- Strong customer relationship management skills with the ability to establish trust-based partnerships across multiple stakeholder levels.
- Languages: Fluent German and English language skills with the ability to confidently conduct technical and commercial discussions in both languages.
