Main Tasks
- Act as primary legal advisor to all stakeholders in the business unit Industrial and the LS&E division
- Responsible for providing operational legal support across a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, antitrust and competition law issues, and general legal issues in various areas of law. Developing and implementing comprehensive legal frameworks to support business objectives and risk management. Preparing and negotiating all types of national and international contracts with customers and suppliers, such as complex contracts for the supply and installation of equipment, EPC/subcontracts, and operating and maintenance agreements. Advising and supporting the supply chain in the preparation and handling of claims
- Working closely with specialist departments and international teams to ensure legal compliance of company activities
- Coordinate and supervise external law firms and legal costs. Managing legal disputes, including developing litigation strategies
- Monitoring effective internal control processes and ensuring compliance with local and global reporting requirements
- Leading and promoting of the employees allocated to this business segment. Establishment of strategic legal support in the Industrial business unit and the LS&E division to strengthen cooperation with the operating business
Your Profile
- Education: Fully qualified lawyer with at least ten years of professional experience in a legal department of a multinational company or a lawyer in an internationally respected law firm
- Work experience: Experience in the Machinery and (plant) construction industry
- Skills:
- Relevant experience in project business and public tenders
- Experience in leveraging external counsel to provide efficient critical legal support
- Sound judgement and the ability to present complex issues precisely and comprehensibly
- Language skills: High level of proficiency in verbal and written German and English. Other languages are an advantage
- Personality:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with intercultural sensitivity and supporting the ability to explain and to solve complex legal matters
- Attitude that aligns with our business goals, a proactive approach, and a collaborative nature. Driven and able to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and make confident decisions
- Willingness to travel worldwide
