Role Summary
The Assembler works within a team to build filters by hand or using specialized equipment according to standard assembly procedures, while adhering to customer specific requirements.
Your Profile
Main Tasks
- Reads and comprehends instructions and follows established procedures
- Understands scheduling of product orders and documentation
- Selects proper parts and tools to manufacture filters
- Aligns material and puts together parts to build more complex units
- Ensures product is processed in a timely manner meeting quality and packaging standards
- Examines and ensures the media being used is available and is the correct media for the job
- Alerts the proper individual(s) to quality issues with filters being manufactured, material availability or defects
- Maintains a high level of quality throughout the operation
- Checks all finished product for quality defects before each step of export or retail sale inspection
- Maintains a clean, neat and organized work area, removing trash and debris as it accumulates throughout shift
- Accurately counts and boxes product based on customer needs
- At the conclusion of each shift prepares area, checks area for damages and refills supplies for the next shift to start
- Keeps records of production quantities and time
- Follows all safety rules, wears all PPE and keeps hair contacted above shoulders
- Additional duties as assigned
We offer
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred
- Understanding of basic principles of filter manufacturing and operating equipment
- Ability in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
- Good understanding of quality control principles
- Excellent hand-eye coordination with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of basic math and the use of a calculator for accuracy of product counts; ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, use decimals and percentages
- Use a level to ensure accurate measurement of items being assembled
- Effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening skills with the ability to communicate
- Self-initiative and ability to work under pressure individually and in a team
- Strong understanding of safety requirements with the ability to identify all safety issues using the STOP, CALL, WAIT system until repairs are made
- Must be able to read, understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, company processes and procedures and safety policies
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
