Summary Second shift Position: 3pm to 12am

The Material Handler verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, moves product to correct locations using hand truck, forklift or lift truck and ensures quality and productivity standards.

What you’ll do:

· Read, comprehend, and follow established instructions and procedures

· Collect all materials and equipment required to begin the production process

· Operate forklifts, lift trucks, or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist products

· Unpack, inspect, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items, record shortages, and communicate with the department supervisor to resolve discrepancies

· Support the shipment of finished goods and the receipt of goods and supplies used for production and storage

· Handle labeling, packing, and organizing of products

· Select and pull accurate products to fulfill customer orders

· Track and maintain inventory of materials and supplies at all times

· Ensure products are stored in accurate and designated locations

· Report defective or questionable materials to the department supervisor

· Report equipment issues, malfunctions, or defective parts

· Perform necessary computer functions to track various aspects of goods and materials

· Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, following all prescribed safety regulations

· Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven forklift experience is a must
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Dependability and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position
  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas.
  • May require working 8 to 10 hours per shift in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to tolerate both high (heat) and low temperatures and loud noises, typical of a manufacturing plant.
  • May be required to work overtime or on weekends, depending on production needs
