Role Description

Responsible for advising the company on commercial, corporate, litigation and transactional matters related to the company's operations as well as corporate functions of the company in South America, with a focus on Brazil.

Responsibility

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, understanding its needs and objectives
  • Collaborate with business leaders to provide legal guidance and support in decision-making processes
  • Provide accurate and timely counsel to executives on a variety of legal topics
  • Manage disputes with third-parties, including management of outside counsel as needed
  • Develop and implement internal governance policies and monitor compliance

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor [Brazil equivalent] Degree. Graduate degree in Business Law is a plus.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Legal Counsel in a business environment.
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
  • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation.
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English, Spanish is a plus.
