Role Summary
The Account Manager - Exports handles customer requests and assists Sales team with requests such as order entry, order status, quotes, and other duties as needed as it pertains specifically to the export channel.
Main Tasks
− Tends to customer needs that could include but are not limited to; quotes, product information, order acknowledgements, packing slips, commercial invoices, etc, which may need cross functional support
− Direct support to the sales lead for the import/export channel
− Tracks containers/shipments of goods
− Works alongside cross functional departments and external parties to ensure necessary paperwork and documentation is prepared and completed prior to shipping of goods
− Builds sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication
− Proactive follow-up with regards to customer orders and shipment status
− Keeps updated records of customer interactions, processes customer accounts and file documents
− Manages varying amounts of incoming and outgoing calls
− Meets customer service team target and quotas
− Upsell products to help build out containers or hit order minimums
− Handles customer complaints, provides appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follows up to ensure resolution
− Follows communication procedures, guidelines and policies
− Additional duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
− High School diploma / GED
Experience Requirements
− 2 year of experience with prior customer service or customer focused work, with a manufacturing company preferred
− Import/Export and experience with customs
Skills Requirements
− Fluency in Spanish and English required
− Ability to adapt and respond to different types of situations
− Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
− Strong computer skills with experience using MS Office, with strong Excel skills; Sage or SAP preferred
− Ability to work independently and in a team setting with multiple priorities
− Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
− Strong cross functional communication internally and with customers
− Extremely detail oriented
