Role Summary

The Quality Manager leads all aspects of the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements. This role drives continuous improvement across production, supplier quality, and customer satisfaction. The Quality Manager is a hands-on leader who partners with Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Quality to maintain the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability — ensuring that every filter leaving the plant reflects MANN+HUMMEL’s commitment to Leadership in Filtration.

Main Tasks

Key Responsibilities
•    Quality Systems & Compliance
•    Oversee and maintain the plant’s Quality Management System (ISO/IATF standards).
•    Ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
•    Lead internal and external quality audits; coordinate audit readiness and responses.
•    Manage document control, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Maintain calibration and verification programs for measurement equipment.
•    Production & Process Quality
•    Partner with Production and Engineering teams to monitor process capability and product quality.
•    Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
•    Implement statistical process control (SPC) and quality metrics to drive process consistency.
•    Oversee first article inspections, PPAP submissions, and validation of new or changed processes.
•    Support problem-solving and containment of nonconforming materials.
•    Supplier & Customer Quality
•    Manage supplier quality performance and audits; drive supplier corrective actions.
•    Monitor customer complaints and returns (RMA/NCMR), ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
•    Serve as primary plant contact for customer quality issues, visits, and scorecard reviews.
•    Collaborate with global quality and engineering teams to standardize best practices.
•    Leadership & Culture
•    Lead, coach, and develop the plant Quality team (inspectors, technicians, and engineers).
•    Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
•    Provide training on quality tools, systems, and standards (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, Control Plans).
•    Drive cross-functional engagement and employee awareness of quality goals.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field required.

Experience Requirements

•    3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment (filtration industry a plus).
•    In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
•    Experience with PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D problem-solving.
•    Previous leadership experience managing a quality department or team.

Skills

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and quality software tools (Minitab, SAP, etc.).
•    Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Physical Requirements

•    Must be able to stand, walk, and inspect production lines for extended periods.
•    Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and access all areas of the plant.
•    Must wear required PPE and adhere to all safety guidelines.
