Role Summary
MANN+HUMMEL is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives at our Goleta, California facility. This role will serve as the site subject matter expert for HSE and partner closely with plant leadership, managers, and employees to drive a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement of HSE programs. The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining site HSE systems, policies, and procedures in alignment with internal standards and ISO requirements. This individual will also support risk assessments, training, audits, incident response, and regulatory communication while helping create a safe and compliant working environment across the facility.
This position is 100% On-site at Goleta, CA.

Main Tasks
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies such as CUPA, GSD, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, State Water Board, and APCD.
• Lead site environmental compliance activities, including emissions monitoring and reporting.
• Monitor HSE legal and regulatory requirements and provide guidance.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions related to HSE incidents and risks.
• Maintain HSE management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Support risk assessments, emergency preparedness, audits, reporting, and compliance activities.
Profile
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, HSE Management, Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in HSE or related role. Manufacturing experience preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
Strong regulatory compliance experience.
Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Cal/OSHA.
Strong communication, training, project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Microsoft Office proficiency required;
SAP is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional environmental compliance knowledge in waste, water, or emissions.
