PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Main Tasks
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures as well as customer expectations
Hires, trains, develops, mentors, counsels, issues written and oral instructions to staff, and terminates according to HR policies
Identifies employees’ skills and develops them by coaching and counseling
Controls and minimizes labor overtime
Enforces understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures
Evaluates current processes and finds ways to standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers
Confers with other managers in the Manufacturing plant to ensure coordination of warehouse activities
Ensures a safe work environment with a focus on “Safety First” with no lost-time worker’s comp incidents
Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel
Reports daily production output along with a detail note of issues
Assesses production levels and customer needs to improve efficiencies and meet goals
Monitors all of the facility insuring employees are at work stations for startup, breaks and lunch timely
Any additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma / GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 year of experience supervising a large staff, including responsibility for hiring, counseling, training, terminating and performance appraisals preferred
3 years manufacturing, distribution, logistics and material management experience required
Interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach
Customer and supplier orientation, organization and coordination skills
Ability to lead, train and mentor employees on a personal & professional level
Experience or knowledge of raw materials planning/production scheduling process
Must have 5 S skills (keep work area safe and clean)
Must work safely and identify all safety issues using the STOP, CALL, WAIT system until repairs are made
Ability to write routine reports and correspondences
Lean Manufacturing experience desired
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), experience working in ERP systems/ Sage experience a plus
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task with self-initiative and the ability to work under pressure
Forklift experience or certification preferred
Self-driven, attention to detail, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on deliverables
Strong verbal and written communication skills; active listening skills with all levels of employees
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical equipment such as forklifts and other machinery. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Ability to work in temperature conditions between 45 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
