Logistics Compliance Specialist

Main Tasks

  • Perform daily track-and-trace activities to monitor shipment status and address delays or exceptions. 
  • Maintain consistent, professional carrier communication to ensure timely updates and issue resolution. 
  • Monitor international inbound air and ocean shipments, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with internal requirements. 
  • Support logistics and compliance projects 
  • Assist with freight audit and payment, including reviewing carrier invoices and validating charges against contractual rates. 
  • Perform accurate HTS classification for raw and finished goods. 
  • Prepare complete and accurate parts lists for customs brokers to ensure compliant customs entries. 
  • Support customs protest filings by compiling required documentation and entry records. 
  • Assist with tariff refund filings, pending potential regulatory or legal decisions. 
  • Pull, organize, and verify CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) and PMS (Periodic Monthly Statement) records. 
  • Conduct ongoing audits of customs entries, classifications, duty payments, and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies or risks. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken. 
  • Experience working within an international, multicultural organization. 
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process (“from supplier’s supplier to customer’s customer”). 
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills, with experience in SAP MM/SD modules preferred. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for effective coordination with carriers, brokers, and internal teams. 
  • Demonstrated confidence, integrity, and sound judgment in handling compliance documentation. 
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. 
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential for audits, reporting, and external correspondence. 
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional overnight travel as needed. 
  • Ability to sit and stand for 8+ hours per day. 
  • Ability to move within office and warehouse environments up to 50% of the time, including navigating logistics and storage areas.
