Strategic Sourcing Expert

Role Summary

This is an on-site position based at our Main Office location in Gastonia, NC. 

The Strategic Sourcing Expert has responsibility for all filter types, activities, projects, and supply locations. This individual will lead the overall portfolio strategy to find the best location and suppliers (internal & external) for the product line. They will be an overall expert on products within the North American landscape and needs of the market across Opening Price Point (OPP)/Medium Price Point (MPP)/High Price Point (HPP) specifications.

Main Tasks

- Define and execute a basic “what to produce where” strategy for the existing product line

- Work closely with New Product Introduction managers to understand pending new additions and how it relates to the strategy

- Deep analytic ability to understand total supply chain costs between supply points and choose best path for MANN+HUMMEL

- Assures the necessary cross-functional collaboration with other functions (e.g., R&D, Purchasing, Operations) for product/future needs of the MANN+HUMMEL customer groups and advanced sourcing activities

- Provides commodity, technology, and supplier market know-how for the organization

- Fosters standardization of materials, processes and strategy for products

- Works closely with Project Management team for large scale projects to ensure proper execution

- Responsible for pricing analysis between plants and suppliers to find best fit scenarios based on cost, delivery performance, and overall product strategy

Your Profile

Education: 

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field

Experience:

- Minimum 3 -5 years’ relevant experience within a global manufacturing or industrial environment

Required Skills:

- Excellent English verbal, written and presentation communication skills

- Strong analytical skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

- Ability to work independently as well as within a team

- Flexibility to travel up to 10% (domestic/international)

Preferred Skills:

- Experience using SAP (or other ERP Systems)

- Specific technical knowledge related to filtration
