Role Informations

- This position is 100% onsite in Gastonia, NC

Main Tasks

- Lead high visibility cross functional projects across operations, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, MPL, product management, quality, and distribution. 
- Build complete project structures: charters, critical path schedules, governance plans, risk registers, and project status updates. 
- Lead major capital projects including purchasing or installing production lines, ensuring readiness for safety, quality, PPAP, and run at rate.
- Run disciplined project cadences, drive accountability, and ensure all team members meet commitments. 
- Conduct project reviews, identify deviations early, and implement proactive recovery plans. 
- Demonstrate full ownership and maintain a high sense of urgency, especially in automotive style environments. 
- Escalate barriers quickly and drive fast resolution.
- Deliver concise executive level updates that clearly communicate status, risks, and next steps. 
- Tailor communication for shop floor operators through senior leadership. 
- Facilitate problem solving, root cause analysis, and contingency planning during project disruptions. 
- Ensure alignment with manufacturing standards (safety, quality, PPAP, run at rate, changeover readiness). 
- Develop and maintain project plans in MS Project or similar tools, including charters, schedules, dashboards, and closure reports.

Educational Requirements

− Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field OR equivalent experience

Experience Requirements

− 3–5+ years in a fast paced manufacturing environment, ideally high volume or automotive/tier 1. 
− Project management experience leading complex, cross functional initiatives. 
− Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet project timelines, and respond effectively to customer and business requirements in a manufacturing environment.
− Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority to achieve project objectives and deliver results.

Skills

− Strong planning, scheduling, prioritization, and time management capability.
− Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard project management tools.
− Ability to identify risks early and execute structured mitigation plans.
− Ability to manage multiple high stakes projects simultaneously in high pressure environments.
− Strong communication skills—concise, clear, and audience appropriate.
− Influential leadership across operators, technicians, engineers, and senior leaders.
− Adaptability—adjusts quickly to changing priorities, scope, and constraints.
− Up to 50% travel domestic/international

Preferred

− Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, PPAP, run at rate, and plant floor processes. 
− Experience presenting and leading workshops. 
− PMP or related project management certification.
