The Product Engineer is responsible for the development, validation, and continuous improvement of new and existing products. This role ensures compliance with customer specifications, internal standards, and regulatory requirements. The Product Engineer works cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customers to deliver robust, cost-effective, and high-performance filtration solutions aligned with business objectives.
Main Tasks
• Lead product engineering activities for new product launches and product modifications from concept through release
• Coordinate Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities related to R&D projects
• Define product fit, form, and function based on customer technical requirements and application needs
• Develop product designs including drawings, CAD models, prototype builds, and validation plans
• Plan and execute material, dimensional, and performance testing to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and internal standards
• Analyze validation results and provide technical recommendations for product approval, launch, or design changes
• Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to support OEM, private label, and internal customers with technical expertise
• Interface with customers and suppliers to review designs, test results, cost optimization initiatives, and technical concerns
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings (Pro-E / Creo or SolidWorks) in accordance with company design standards
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing for production inquiries and to Quality for customer complaint resolution
• Ensure product functionality and durability meet intended application requirements
• Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with company systems and procedures
• Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Required Skills
• Strong understanding and application of engineering principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timing requirements
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of filtration or filter manufacturing processes
• Program or project management experience
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling (CAD)
