Maintenance Technician

ROLE SUMMARY
This is an Onsite position basd at our plant location in Gastonia, NC.
- No Visa sponsorships will be available for this position.
The Maintenance Technician is an integral member of our plant team and must be able to repair, install, replace and maintain both mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as diagnose equipment failure and make repairs to equipment per manufacture recommendations and/or appropriate work instructions. You will also work closely with external contractors to supervise satisfactory completion of necessary work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with safety requirements
- Interpret and apply specifications such as drawings, schematics, ladder logic etc.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installation
- Experience with Servo & VFD drives and programing PLC controls
- Maintain appropriate records for work orders
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
- Responsible for ordering material, submitting receipts and reconciling through company’s SAP portal
- Responsible for overseeing 3rd party vendor relationships for equipment, purchases, leases/ contracts
- Dismantles electrical equipment and replaces faulty or defective parts in compliance with O.S.H.A., State and Local codes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area and participate in shop clean-up schedules and projects. Operate all equipment in accordance with safety requirements
- Maintain PM (Preventive Maintenance) program for equipment in the plant/production floor
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ensure that quality standards are met
- Lock Out -Tag Out. Stop processes if quality or safety standards are not met
- Maintain spare parts of inventory for the plant
- Identify/record any problems relating to the product, process, or the quality system
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected
- Must maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area and participate in shop clean-up schedules and projects
- Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED
Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ mechanical and electrical machine shop experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Required Skills:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools

Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds

Must be able to work under physical situations that include standing, moving, climbing, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching and handling

Have basic knowledge of O.S.H.A., State and Local electrical codes

Must be willing to work non-standard (overtime) hours as needed

Travel may be required (local travel as needed only- up to 10%)
Additional Preferred Education, Certification, Experience and Skills:
-
Completion of a one-year industrial electrician/ or journeyman certification program
-
ERP system experience (SAP highly preferred)
- Training and/or experience with Polyurethane dispensing systems, hydraulics, machining, and PLC programming
