The Maintenance Planner works within the centralized maintenance department. The Maintenance Planner’s primary function is to increase productivity and efficiency by developing, planning and scheduling maintenance activities focused on equipment reliability improvements along with other components of the proactive maintenance model including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Maintenance Basics and other similar type programs designed to efficiently maximize equipment performance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares efficient and effective work plans for all Preventive, Autonomous, Predictive, Condition-Based, and Project/Backlog Maintenance work; works with the MRO/ Tool Crib team to ensure parts are available
• Supports the Line Mechanics and Technicians by providing a maintenance plan and maintains open flow of communication up and down the maintenance chain
• Identifies and escalates problems proactively
• Serve as a Training scheduler, championing PM/AM programs, tracking results, pushing for execution of improvement projects, initiating focused projects based on Maintenance trends, and participating in process improvement initiatives
• Leads TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program, defines Preventive Maintenance and Autonomous Maintenance tasks and responsibilities
• Coordinates and schedules daily and weekend Maintenance activities including with outside 3rd party maintenance teams
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
• 5 years’ minimum experience in manufacturing industrial maintenance
• 3 years’ previous experience working with a maintenance CMMS system
Required Skills:
• Strong understanding of mechanical processes, equipment, and electrical systems
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to give and receive feedback and work within a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings
• Knowledge of quality, safety and production factors related to job tasks
• Flexibility to work on weekends
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
• Associates Degree within Industrial Mechanical or Electrical systems or Journeyman certification
• In depth SAP (strongly preferred) preventative maintenance system experience
• Previous experience leading plant maintenance team projects
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
• Automotive parts manufacturing experience
