Maintenance Lead (3rd Shift)

Role Summary
This is an on-site position based at our Allen Plant location in Gastonia, NC.
The Maintenance Lead must be able to lead a small maintenance project team in the repair, installation, replacement, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment. They will also diagnose equipment failure and make repairs to equipment per manufacture recommendations and / or appropriate instructions.
Main Tasks
- Lead the team in attainment of daily repairs, PM’s and project completion
- Train other Maintenance Technicians on safety, job duties, quality, scrap reduction, and 5S disciplines
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electro-mechanical equipment installation
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
- Lead team in the testing of electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC’s, industrial electrical and electronic control systems, and other related devices
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems
- Documenting processes and maintaining service records in the CMMS System
- Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies
- Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
− Must maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area and participate in shop clean-up schedules and projects
Your Profile
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of an Industrial Maintenance program or related program, certification, diploma, or Journeyman’s certification
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and/or hydraulic systems
- 2 years minimum experience as a Maintenance Team Lead, or previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Required Skills:
- Have basic knowledge of O.S.H.A., State and Local codes
- Ability to repair defective parts in compliance with O.S.H.A., State and Local codes
− Ability to maintain appropriate records such as work orders, timesheets, etc.
− Ability to operate all maintenance equipment in accordance with safety requirements
− Root cause problem-solving and creative thinking
− Must be able to work independently with a sense of urgency as well as lead a small project team
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on knowledge in using MicroSoft Excel
- Experience working with SAP (or other ERP systems)
