Finance Controller

Role Summary

This is an On-Site position based at our location in Gastonia, NC. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor and control our financial operations, ensuring compliance with both company policies and current legislation. Maintain the quality and accuracy of financial information, manage budgets, and support strategic decision-making processes. Specialize in the automotive aftermarket, focusing on the analysis of standard costs, outbound logistics costs, and sales prices for private label and open brands.

Budget Monitoring and Control:

• Oversee the budget, ensure compliance with deadlines, legislation, and company policies
• Continuously monitor and analyze economic, financial, and operational flows across all MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology locations

Financial Analysis:

• Reconcile and study financial information to maintain budget standards
• Analyze billing, revenue, expenses, and costs to identify variations and recommend corrective actions 

Cost Management:

• Update and compare actual versus budgeted costs, identifying deviations and providing support to correct them
• Calculate manufacturing costs and create a robust database to support commercial areas

Profitability Analysis:

• Prepare detailed management reports on profitability, product/customer performance, and cost variations
• Conduct in-depth analysis of production items, focusing on consumption, waste, and price formation

Investment Budget Control:

• Monitor and control the investment budget, performing return on investment analysis

Strategic Planning:

• Lead the planning, forecasting, and closing of budgets to ensure fair and accurate cost distribution
• Develop and implement budgeting and forecasting models

Compliance and Training:

• Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Auditing Standards
• Implement and manage SAP and BPC modules, providing necessary training to the team

Specialization in Automotive Aftermarket:

• Analyze standard costs, outbound logistics costs, and sales prices for private label and open brands, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient logistics operations

Transfer Pricing:

• Manage transfer pricing policies and compliance, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to international guidelines

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or closely related field

Experience:

• Two years of experience as a Controller, Financial Analyst, or closely related occupation
• Requires two years of experience with each of the following:
  • FP&A within the distribution and/or manufacturing industry
  • Creating budgeting and forecasting models
  • Using GAAP and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
  • Implementing and using SAP and BPC modules
  • Analyzing standard costs, outbound logistics costs, and sales prices for private label and open brands within the automotive aftermarket
  • Working in Latin American markets with an understanding of regional financial practices and regulations
  • Analyzing complex financial data and preparing detailed reports

Additional Requirement:

• Up to 20% travel to various unanticipated locations
