MANN+HUMMEL is seeking a motivated, customer-focused District Sales Manager to represent WIX FILTER and MANN-FILTER products throughout an assigned Northeast territory. The successful candidate will manage and grow an established customer portfolio while identifying new business opportunities across the automotive aftermarket and related industries.

This is a remote, field-based position requiring regular customer visits and regional travel. The ideal candidate will reside in or near Rochester or Buffalo, New York, and will combine strong relationship-building skills with a hands-on, mechanically minded approach to customer support.

Main Tasks

  • Territory Sales Management: Manage and grow sales throughout the assigned district while meeting or exceeding revenue, profitability, and other established performance objectives.
  • Account Management: Develop trusted relationships with existing customers through consistent communication, responsive support, and an understanding of their business needs.
  • New Business Development: Identify, pursue, and convert new sales opportunities to expand the customer base and increase territory revenue.
  • Customer Engagement: Lead customer meetings, business reviews, planning sessions, product training, and fleet surveys.
  • Technical and Operational Support: Develop a working knowledge of filtration products and provide hands-on assistance during customer inventories, product changeovers, and inventory relocations.
  • Issue Resolution: Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns, coordinating with internal partners to achieve effective solutions.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, customer needs, and industry challenges to identify opportunities for growth and improved profitability.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement territory sales plans that support customer retention, new-account growth, and organizational objectives.
  • Reporting and CRM Management: Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, fleet reporting, business forms, and other required documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with fellow sales representatives, product trainers, and internal business partners to provide a consistent customer experience.
  • Travel: Travel approximately 30–40% throughout the assigned territory, including regular daily driving and overnight travel as business needs require.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant sales experience in place of a degree
  • Experience managing customer accounts, developing new business, or supporting an assigned sales territory
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales, revenue, profitability, or other measurable business objectives
  • Strong customer relationship-building, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to provide hands-on customer and product support
  • Ability to deliver product training and effectively communicate technical information
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a regional sales team
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40–50%, including overnight travel
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Residence in, or willingness to relocate at personal expense to, the Rochester or Buffalo, New York area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales experience within the automotive aftermarket, heavy-duty, off-road equipment, filtration, or a related industry
  • Experience managing an established territory while developing new accounts
  • Salesforce or comparable CRM experience
  • Experience conducting fleet surveys or customer business reviews
  • Experience supporting inventories, product changeovers, or inventory relocations
  • Knowledge of filtration products or other mechanical and technical product lines
