Commodity Buyer - Indirect Materials

ROLE SUMMARY

This is an Onsite Contract position based at our U.S. and Americas Main Office location in Gastonia, NC. 

• No Visa sponsorships are available for this position.

• The right candidate must be able to commute daily to our location in Gastonia, NC with the understanding that this is a Contract position with an anticipated end date of 12/31/2027. 

In this role you will strategically quote and source Non-Production Materials (Maintenance, Repair, and Operating materials) and Capital Equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, share, and implement category industry knowledge and best practices for NPM and Capex sourcing
• Analyze MRO and indirect spend and identify opportunities for cost savings, contract improvements, risk mitigation and improved compliance with standards, policies, and contracts
• Achieve year-over-year pricing improvements and record cost avoidance measurements
• Monitor and provide guidance on procurement processes for MRO and indirects
• Manage supplier performance and improve user experience by utilizing Vendor Management System
• Work with the procurement team to provide MRO expertise in the areas of contract negotiations, supplier/pricing models, and sourcing
• Maintian the contract maintenance in the Corporate Retention System (Easy Contract)
• Seek value added vendors to eliminate waste or improve user experience
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Purchaisng Procedures and Policies
• Build and maintain trust and strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Projects comfort and credibility with a complex group of stakeholders, both within and outside of the organization
• Understanding of how to manage projects toward concrete deliverables under a wide range of timelines

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline 

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 3 years experience with a proven track record in NPM, CAPEX, MRO and indirect procurement in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Experience conducting end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for MRO and indirects
• Experience developing and managing e-auctions
• Experience conducting spend analysis
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office software
• Clear understanding of how to conduct supplier and market research
• Strong English communication skills, including written, verbal, and presenting to others in a variety of formats 

Preferred Certifications, Experience and Skills:

• CPM, CPSM, ASQ Certification
• Knowledge of, and experience using an ERP system (SAP preferred)
