Role Summary

A Tool & Die Technician has a strong understanding of how Stamping Dies work. This position requires the discipline to maintain and repair all dies, tools, fixtures and equipment, as assigned to the maintain the highest level of MANN+HUMMEL standards.

Main Tasks

  • Works on progressive stamping dies with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Repairs and maintains of all tools, dies, fixtures and equipment as assigned. 
  • Setups and operates presses and equipment that dies are run in.
  • Operates of all Toolroom equipment proficiently and is capable of maintaining to a tolerance of  ± .0001 to ± .001. 
  • Heat treat the various types of materials used in the Toolroom.
  • Interprets die drawings and piece part drawings.
  • Sketches component parts for a die or piece of equipment for machinists.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area.
  • Adheres to all of the Mann+Hummel Management System policies, procedures, work instructions, and established safety rules.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area. (5s Standards)

Your Profile

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed a 2 year Technical School Training in Tool and Die or Machine Technology or equivalent experience .
  • Completion of Certified Tool and Die apprentice program.  (Preferred)
  • Strong understanding of how stamping dies are made as well as how they work.
  • Has throrough knowledge of Toolroom procedures and equipment operation.
  •  Minimum of six (6) years experience in the trade.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with measuring instruments.
  • Proficient in shop math I.E.; trigonometry, geometry.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation and related software.
