Process Engineer

Role Summary
This position is responsible to support production to achieve Takt time every hour by improving manufacturing processes, equipment, manufacturing layouts, and resolving engineering issues that impede production. This position participates in 8D resolution, scrap reduction, downtime reduction, new process development including updates to the process FMEA, control plan, and production flow plans.
Main Tasks
- Responsible for leading, problem resolution, and report out status of assigned project with the goal of achieving hourly Takt Time targets
- Responsible for managing internal engineering changes including tracking costs, assessing resources, and achieving deadline requirements.
- Originates statements of work specifications for existing revised machines and fixtures.
- Attends new design proposals reviews and makes recommendations regarding manufacturability, and compatibility with current manufacturing operations.
- Attends layout reviews for new products and makes recommendations for process flow, product
assembly, and equipment.
- Performs time studies, line balancing and implements improvements “Kaizen.”
- Performs internal process development of new, with Production Engineering, and existing tooling
- Reviews the performance of any process changes or machine improvements with the Quality department to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Performs revisions to the process FMEA, control plan, and production flow for design change.
- Leads customer run at rate with support from Production Engineer.
- Assists Production engineering for customer run at rates for new programs
- Maintains required skills through training and studying of engineering and technical publications to keep current on technological changes and developments in the industry.
- Performs Investigation and implementation of counter measures to any internal and external quality or safety concerns.
- Performs activities in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record to ensure timely work completion.
- Must have knowledge of and adhere to the current Quality and Environmental Systems requirements that relate to this job

Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 4 years in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for engineering projects.
- Experience with a variety of manufacturing engineering projects, toward specific results to devise new or modify and adapt existing methods, techniques, and procedures.
Skills Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanics of machines and motion, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and strengths and mechanics of material.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
