Main Tasks
- Create and maintain a training Matrix for all warehouse and physical logistics functions
- Monitor staffing requirements to meet on-time delivery performance to internal and external customers
- Participate in development and implementation of organizational goals, objectives, policies, and priorities
- Direct and review work plan for assigned staff in a three-shift work mode
- Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions
- Develop standard work for each position in assigned area
- Report and investigate all accidents and unsafe work conditions
- Participate in the design and execution of logistics systems to efficiently collect and distribute material between multiple warehousing concepts and production work cells
- Evaluate current material handling equipment for capacity analysis and optimizations
- Assist in warehouse layouts, marketplace development, time observations, storage density analysis, Kanban implementation and continuous improvement events
- Suggest and implement ideas to improve inventory accuracy, 5S, cost reductions and KPI attainment
- Perform all supervisory functions to include employee selection, time and attendance, performance evaluations, coach, counsel and discipline, conflict resolution, participate in team building activities and conduct team meetings
- Discover new trends and innovations in the fields of warehousing and storage programs
- Develop good working relationships with peers to effectively identify and resolve problems
- Assist auditing in an IS014001/ISO9001/IATF16949 environment
- Conduct forklift certification training
Your Profile
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- 2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in a lean manufacturing and warehouse environment
- Experience using ERP systems
- Experience implementing advanced warehouse systems and related technology
Required Skills
- Ability to model logistic flows of materials and evaluate processes for manning and equipment responsibilities
- Ability to collect and process information, graphically illustrate information using graphs and charts, present data to management and stake holders
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule to include nights and weekends as required
- Computer literate with advanced proficiencies in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint etc.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
- SAP ERP system experience
- Logistics supervisor experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- IATP16949 knowledge
