Production Scheduler

Main Tasks

− Evaluates customer demand and firms up planned orders in SAP, maintaining accurate SAP data.
− Create weekly and daily production schedules favorable to customer needs and production efficiency.
− Establishes priorities for production runs. 
− Identify and maintain old, planned orders in SAP to ensure all planned orders are current.
− Participate in the weekly calculation of headcount necessary for production.
− Participate in the weekly overtime meetings to plan weekend headcount.
− Monitor production adherence to schedule, reschedule if necessary to support customer requirements. 
− Walk production floor regularly to monitor adherence to schedule and resolve any known issues.
− Work closely with material planners to ensure that all raw material needed for production is available.
− Work closely with shipping department to ensure that all material needed is available for on time shipment.
− Participate in new product introductions and product changes. 
− Communicate with production team on a regular basis. 
− Maintains an acceptable attendance record to ensure timely work completion.
− Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
− Collaborate with other departments within the company for projects. 
− Ability to perform in a high-paced work environment and adapt to quick changes. 
− Operates a computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and standard office equipment.
− Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and established safety rules. 

Educational Requirements

− High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of experience in production planning.

Experience Requirements

− Minimum 2 years production planning experience with a degree.

Skills Requirements

− Interpersonal skills necessary to work in a cooperative, positive team approach.
− Microsoft Excel advanced skills – ability to manipulate data using pivot tables, ability to export data, consolidate and summarize data, and troubleshoot common worksheet problems. Proficient to work with functions to maximize use of Excel. 

Preferred

− Associates degree in business, supply chain or related field
− SAP ERP system experience.
− 3 years of automotive manufacturing experience.
− Knowledge of heijunka production leveling and related production visual management systems
