Local Purchasing Representative

We are looking for a Buyer to manage non-production material procurement for our Zaragoza plant. In this role, you will be responsible for supplier management, contract negotiations, cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring smooth procurement operations. Working closely with international teams and key stakeholders, you will help optimize purchasing processes and drive efficiency across the organization. This is a great opportunity for a purchasing professional with strong Spanish and English language skills who enjoys working in an international manufacturing environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of supplier management for non-production materials at our Zaragoza plant, including supplier negotiations and contract management.
- Coordinate procurement activities and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services from both internal and external suppliers.
- Manage e-Procurement processes, maintain e-catalogs, and promote the effective use of procurement tools across the organization.
- Monitor and reduce maverick buying by ensuring all purchases follow established procurement processes and approval requirements.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and support ongoing Ratio C projects to achieve procurement targets.
- Collaborate closely with Shared Service Centre teams, spot buyers, and category managers to ensure efficient procurement operations.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant management, and communicate effectively in both Spanish and English.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Education: High school diploma or university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365; experience with SAP is required, and Power BI is considered an advantage.
- Languages: Spanish (C1 level) and English (B2 level or higher).
- Personal Competencies: Strong negotiation and communication skills, ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, excellent organizational and coordination skills, strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities, willingness to travel occasionally to Spain
