As the Head of Development at MANN+HUMMEL, you will join a newly formed team within GBTS in Brno, where your contributions will have a significant impact as we work to build a next-generation, top-tier e-commerce platform. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team leadership & management
- Set and manage team priorities to align with business objectives, ensuring that high-impact projects are prioritized and effectively executed.
- Guide the technical team in their career paths, fostering professional growth and development. Promote the values and culture of the development team to enhance collaboration, innovation, and job satisfaction.
Resource allocation & optimization
- Identify and allocate necessary resources for each team, optimizing team structure and capacity to meet project demands and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Close collaboration with HR Team taking ownership of hiring pipelines, including defining role requirements, leading recruitment efforts, and ensuring the acquisition of top talent to build a high-performing development team.
- Oversee and manage the development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to align with strategic goals and project needs.
Strategic oversight & cross-functional collaboration
- Provide high-level strategic oversight, focusing on major objectives and decisions while delegating detailed tasks and day-to-day operations to team leads and managers.
- Work closely with other departments, such as product management and operations, to align development efforts with broader business goals and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Risk management & tech strategy
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address issues before they impact project success or team performance.
- Define and drive the technology strategy, staying abreast of industry trends and innovations to ensure the development team utilizes the most effective tools and practices.
YOUR PROFILE:
- Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership or management role
- Required Skills:
Proven ability to effectively manage and mentor mid – large development teams (10-20 members) including profiles of frontend, backend, DevOps and QA.
Proven ability to thrive in a high-scale, complex E-COMMERCE environment, particularly within large organizations.
Advanced level (knowledge and experience) of programming languages and methodologies.
Experience of managing, directing and motivating staff to deliver projects with stretching scope and objectives.
Demonstrated success in managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously while navigating organizational structures and processes.
- Languages: Fluent English language (C1+ level)
- Competencies: Strong Leadership, professional attitude – and leading by example. Proactive and highly organized personality, with strong time management and planning skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capability of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
