About the role:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Digital Manufacturing Platform (DMP) team at MANN+HUMMEL. You will help build a global, cloud-based platform that collects and processes real-time data from manufacturing lines and machines, enabling smarter decision-making across our plants. This role combines modern data engineering with real industry impact—supporting scalable, Industry 4.0 solutions used worldwide.

Your responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize ETL and data pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark, SparkSQL, and Data Lake
  • Design and implement new data pipelines and workflows for real-time and batch manufacturing data
  • Ensure data quality, performance, and stability across the cloud data platform
  • Support and enhance Power BI dashboards used by manufacturing and business teams
  • Maintain and troubleshoot SAP/IDOC integrations and related data flows
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and DMP team members on new use cases and data architecture
  • Take ownership of the data engineering domain and contribute to building a scalable, standardized platform

Your profile:

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience: 2–3+ years in Data Engineering
  • Required Skills: Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks or similiar (e.g., AWS Glue, EMR, etc.) and PySpark / SparkSQL, SQL, Data Lake and data modeling, proficiency in Power BI
  • Nice-to-have Skills: Understanding of Medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold), experience working with IDOC
  • Languages: English – professional working proficiency, knowledge of Czech is a plus
  • Competencies: Analytical thinking, ownership mindset, independence, problem-solving, collaboration, and openness to learning
