Role Summary
The incumbent oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes. A team of advanced manufacturing engineers, project engineers and production engineers are supporting the fulfillment of tasks.
Main Tasks
Functional
- Plan required budgets and human resources in area of responsibility
- Ensure that latest knowledge in industry and best practices in companies are applied
- Contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
- Close collaboration with R&D to ensure design for manufacturing
- Apply latest technology from related industry to ensure competitiveness
- Ensure the appropriate balance between automation and manual production processes
- Support continuous improvement for new and existing processes to ensure competiveness of production costs
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation; apply policies and processes; provide healthy, safe and environmentally friendly work places and state-of-the-art production processes and infrastructure;
- Apply adequate protection and emergency concepts based on continuously updated risk assessments
- Ensure that all relevant internal and external norms and standards (e.g. ISO/IATF) are applied
- Contribute to improvement of plant carbon footprint
Leadership
- Lead, direct, develop and coordinate a high performance team under his supervision for engineering
- Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
- Enhance SQDC target development
- TTP – Time to Pass and IPT achievement
- Variance/deviation in standard costs / compliance with machine and tooling cost
- OEE
- Non quality cost index
- Customer ppm
- Customer complaints
- HSE (Accident Frequency Rate, Energy Efficiency, Recycling Rate)
Experience
Required:
- Diploma / Bachelor degree in Tool design / Tool making from NTTF, GTTC & CIPET
- Overall 18-25 years of hands-on experience of manufacturing engineering and relevant experience in Tool room as Injection Mold designer/ Assembly operations process engineering.
- Familiar with required production processes and working processes (e.g. pleating, plastic injection molding, plastic welding, assembly, digitalization tools)
- Mold manufacturing processes and Molding process
- IATF 16949 awareness (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control plan etc.)
- Adequate knowledge in MRP, Routing, BOM, MES
- Ability to troubleshoot the defects with problem-solving tools.
- Process improvement and analysis in Micro level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with measuring devices
- Familiar in applying Lean Manufacturing
Preferred:
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering for automotive products
Language and Computer Abilities:
- Fluent in written and oral English communication preferred
- Relevant IT tools (MS Office, SAP PP, MES etc.)
