Senior Engineer - Security

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer (4–7 years’ experience) with strong hands-on expertise in Fortinet (FortiGate) and Palo Alto firewalls to support our global production security environment.

The role requires L2/L3 operational support, incident handling, and SD-WAN environment management, along with exposure to SASE-based security models.

Main Tasks

  • Provide 24x7 support for global security infrastructure (production environment)
  • Handle P1/P2 incidents, perform troubleshooting, and drive root cause analysis (RCA)

Manage and support:

  • Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls
  • Palo Alto Firewalls (Panorama mandatory exposure)

Configure and optimize:

  • Firewall policies
  • NAT, VPN (IPSec/SSL), security profiles

Support and manage SD-WAN environments:

  • Traffic steering
  • Link failover
  • Policy configuration

Perform:

  • Patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
  • Backup and restore operations
  • Maintain High Availability (HA) firewall environments
  • Execute change requests with proper planning, risk analysis, and rollback strategy
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation
  • Work with monitoring and ticketing tools (ServiceNow/Remedy) aligned to SLA/KPIs
  • Collaborate with network, server, and security teams

Prepare and maintain:

  • SOPs
  • Runbooks
  • Technical documentation
  • Participate in security transformation initiatives (SD-WAN / SASE)

Experience

  • Diploma / Graduation or B.E from reputed University or Institute.
  • 4 to 7 years of progressive experience in networking, enterprise routing, network security, with basic exposure to Azure cloud networking.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of      instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Taking ownership for Incident tickets and resolve within SLA.
  • Knowledge of ITIL disciplines such as Incident, Problem and Change Management.

Strong experience in:

  • Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls
  • Palo Alto Firewalls (Panorama preferred)
  • Policy design, NAT, VPN (IPSec/SSL),
  • SD-WAN technologies (Fortinet / Palo Alto)
  • Firewall policy management and optimization 
  • Vulnerability assessment and remediation
  • Certification: Fortinet NSE4/NSE5/NSE6; Palo Alto PCNSE / ACE; Any SASE / SD-WAN certifications are an added advantage
  • Awareness or hands-on with Forti SASE / Prisma Access / Global Protect
  • Not mandatory to design, but should understand use cases & operations
  • SASE architecture knowledge and remote access security models
  • AWS / Azure basics (Security Groups, NSG, VPN integration)
