Role Summary

The Engineer is responsible for Design, Development and Establishment of Injection molds, PU Moulds and Plastic Welding Fixtures. He will be involved from quotation phase until establishment, for Providing concepts and proving of injection molds both at supplier and in-house. Experience in Injection mold design and Molding process is must.

Main Tasks

  1. Manufacturing feasibility study from 3D models and prepare DFM reports.
  2. Conceptualise mould design and estimate required moulding machines capacity and manufacturing processes.
  3. Estimate Mould /Fixture cost and lead time considering best manufacturing methods.
  4. reviewing of new mould/fixture, ECN changes in existing mould designs using CATIA.
  5. Responsible for reducing mold cost and lead-time by providing innovative Ideas to suppliers.
  6. Responsible for Mould design reviews including mold flow analysis and feedback to supplier to ensure defect free development.
  7. Should be able to identify failure modes and take actions to eliminate failures.
  8. Monitor time plan and ensure tool development schedule.
  9. Attending Try-outs and ensure the quality of mould, fixture and part.
  10. Root cause analysis and preventive actions to eliminate the failures and defects.
  11. Responsible for PPAP, New product Documentation and retention.
  12. Establishing of moulds/fixtures for in- house production and ensure smooth transition.
  13. Responsible for continuous improvements after handover to production.

Experience

Education/Major：

  • Diploma / Bachelor degree in Tool design / Tool making from NTTF, GTTC & CIPET

Experiences：

  • 5 to 10 years of Hands-on experience in Tool room as Injection Mold designer.

Knowledge & Skills：

  • Mold manufacturing processes and Molding process
  • Ability to troubleshoot the defects with problem-solving tools.
  • Process improvement and analysis in Micro level
  • Flexible to travel anywhere, whenever required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
