Lead Engineer- Design & Development

Role Summary

The job incumbent performs and manages all the design & development activities within the Project /Workflowand ensures that the designed products meet the M+H standards and the customer specifications

Main Tasks

• Lead local/regional/ global OE/ OES customer projects and achieve the targets as per defined scope, quality and budget
•  Responsible for Capturing Customer Specific requirements (CSR) and to generate Design Specific Requirements (DSR)
• Responsible for generating Engineering Layouts and Technical calculations as per CSR.
•  Responsible for the development of the design concepts and manage to develop 3D Models and 2D drawing for the approved Design Concept
• Manage the process of the Functional Product release of the products within the area of responsibility including all technical documentation (CAD-data, drawings, technical descriptions and presentations, technical specifications, FMEA, design verification plans, product validation plans, test reports, FFAP, etc.)
•  Responsible for managing and performing all the design related tasks as per M+H Product Development Process (xSEP) (FMEA, design concept release, CAD concept etc.) in cooperation with cross functional teams and Stake Holders.
• Responsible to prepare and maintain the technical documentation of the projects in CIM Database as per xSEP and Engg Workflow requirements.
• Responsible for the ‘functional reviews´ within the product groups
• Drive activities related to patents and in protecting the patent rights for new/existing products and provide work around solutions.
• Ensure compliance with the technical standards, processes and norms of M+H Group during the project and Communicate with the customers and the relevant departments regarding all technical issues
• Identify and drive Continuous Improvement projects by VA/VE, Localization, Standardization, Digitalization etc.
• Responsible to perform Technical Change Management (TCM) activities
• Prepare and manage the technical documentation of the products in CIM Database.
•  Lead, collaborate with experts and contribute in Fundamental Study/ Innovation/ Customer specific new application development Projects
• Prepare technical presentations for customers, participate in customer meetings and contribute with product expertise and knowledge.
• Responsible for the modification of products regarding the technical specifications during the serial production
• Responsible for In process (IP) testing with generation of test order and reports from serial production parts in co-ordination with Plant quality.
• Share Best Practices and knowledge within the team and keep it well documented.

Experience

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors/ master’s degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering/ equivalent education from reputed university/ institute
• 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in (automotive or similar) product development processes

Skills & Competencies:

• Know – Howin customer processes and standards (APQP.,..)
• Knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g.: TS16949 etc. …)
• Product know-how of M+H products as well as system understanding is an added advantage
• Knowledge of filtration products as well as basics of filtration would be an added advantage Proficient use of IT-tools (MS Office, CATIA V5, Solid Works, CIM DATABASE, SAP, CAD,  ..)
• English language skills.
