Role Summary

The Application Operations engineer with 1 to 4 years of experience will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise applications to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability. This role involves monitoring application health, resolving incidents, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and ensure seamless operations.

Main Tasks

• Installation, maintenance and support of our enterprise business applications 
• Migration of applications between different platforms, versions and locations 
• Management of DBMS software such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, mySQL and 
PostgreSQL 
• Adherent to IT operating processes 
• Support for our business in case of system failure according to our internal service level 
agreements via ServiceNow 
• Control and coordination of our external partners and service providers in case of 
failure or malfunction of an application 
• Creation and revision of documentation and troubleshooting guides 
• Analysis and evaluation of system, database and application logs 
• Determine ways to optimize/improve JIRA/plug-ins setup and workflows, identify where 
functionality can/cannot meet user requests 
• Maintain documentation related to application configurations, operational procedures, 
and troubleshooting guides. 
• Participate in change management processes and ensure compliance with 
organizational standards. 
• Support automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual 
interventions. 
• Management and support of Atlassian JIRA and Confluence as an administrator 
• Working Knowledge about O365  

Experience

▪ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
▪ 1–4 years of experience in application support, operations, or a related IT role. 
▪ Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident/change/problem management. 
▪ Understanding of databases (SQL), and monitoring tools. 
▪ Experience with the maintenance and operation of applications 
▪ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 
▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
▪ Knowledge of service management tools like ServiceNow 
▪ Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment or rotational shifts, if required.
